5AU Base Procedurehl7.fhir.au.base#currentR4This profile defines a procedure structure that localises core concepts, including terminology, for use in an Australian context. The purpose of this profile is to provide national level agreement on core localised concepts. This profile does not force conformance to core localised concepts. It enables implementers and modellers to make their own rules, i.e. [profiling](http://hl7.org/fhir/profiling.html), about how to support these concepts for specific implementation needs.
6AU Core Procedurehl7.fhir.au.core#currentR4This profile sets minimum expectations for a Procedure resource to record, search, and fetch procedures associated with a patient. It is based on the [AU Base Procedure](http://build.fhir.org/ig/hl7au/au-fhir-base/StructureDefinition-au-procedure.html) profile and identifies the *additional* mandatory core elements, extensions, vocabularies and value sets that **SHALL** be present in the Procedure resource when conforming to this profile. It provides the floor for standards development for specific uses cases in an Australian context.
7AU Primary Care Procedureau.csiro.fhir.au-primarycare#currentR4A clinical activity carried out for screening, investigative, diagnostic, curative, therapeutic, evaluative or palliative purposes. **Usage** Use to record information about procedures that have been carried out for an individual. 72HCIM FreedomRestrictingMeasuresnictiz.fhir.nl.stu3.zib2017#2.2.15R3Freedom restricting measures are (physical or verbal) measures used to deliberately restrict the freedom of the patient in question. Many forms of freedom restricting measures fall under this definition, including but not limited to: involuntary treatment (e.g. forced medication) physical restraints (side rails fully up) physical fixation (arm restraints in order to prevent removal of drip) electronic surveillance to monitor the whereabouts of the patient. In hospitals, these often include the use of side rails, a cushion belt (around the waist) or a Posey bed. Often sedatives are administered in combination with the freedom restricting measures. For small children it often involves fixation of e.g. hands to prevent the extraction of a nasogastric tube. The Vereniging Verpleegkundigen & Verzorgenden Nederland (V&VN) [Dutch Nurses and Carers Association] published a set of guidelines for nurses to implement these restraints in hospitals. The ‘Wet BOPZ’ [Dutch Psychiatric Hospitals (Compulsory Admissions) Act] protects the rights of clients who are involuntarily admitted into mental healthcare, services for the disabled and in geriatric psychiatry. The act only applies to ‘BOPZ’-marked facilities and also applies to some (closed) wards in nursing homes. Mental healthcare facilities use a national registration system to register the restraints called Argus registration. Permission of the patient or his/hers legal representative is required before starting freedom restricting measures. The patient’s high-risk behavior providing cause for the restraints is not described in this concept.
73HCIM NursingInterventionnictiz.fhir.nl.stu3.zib2017#2.2.15R3NursingIntervention as defined by the Dutch Health and Care Information models (Dutch: Zorginformatiebouwsteen or ZIB) version 3.1, release 2017 with an addaption by the 'VNN redactieraad 2018', where a informationmodel is proposed without the NursingProcedure container and attached mandatory Activity concept. A nursing intervention is the care and/or treatment carried out by a nurse based on an expert opinion and clinical knowledge. It is part of the nursing process; interventions are determined as a result of indexed healthcare problems (nursing diagnoses) and based on treatment goals. The interventions are outlined in the nursing procedures. In a home care situation some actions can also be performed by the patient or a caregiver after a relevant instruction.
74HCIM Procedurenictiz.fhir.nl.stu3.zib2017#2.2.15R3Procedure as defined by the Dutch Health and Care Information models (Dutch: Zorginformatiebouwsteen or ZIB) version 4.1, release 2017. The concept Procedure indicates a therapeutic procedure undergone by the patient. If relevant, diagnostic procedures can be listed as well. A procedure can be a simple blood pressure measurement, but also a complex heart surgery.

140Procedure Activity Procedurehl7.cda.us.ccdar2dot2#currentR5The common notion of "procedure" is broader than that specified by the HL7 Version 3 Reference Information Model (RIM). Therefore procedure templates can be represented with various RIM classes: act (e.g., dressing change), observation (e.g., EEG), procedure (e.g., splenectomy). This template represents procedures whose immediate and primary outcome (post-condition) is the alteration of the physical condition of the patient. Examples of these procedures are an appendectomy, hip replacement, and a creation of a gastrostomy. This template can be used with a contained Product Instance template to represent a device in or on a patient. In this case, targetSiteCode is used to record the location of the device in or on the patient's body. Equipment supplied to the patient (e.g., pumps, inhalers, wheelchairs) is represented by the Non-Medicinal Supply Activity (V2) template.
